Frenchtown Force Competitive / Travel Program

The Frenchtown Force competitive program participates in the Montana State Competitive Spring Soccer League for players 10-18 years old (US soccer age groups U11-U19) or generally speaking 5th through 12th grade.  Teams travel throughout the state to compete against other club teams affiliated with Montana Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), under the overall umbrella of the US Youth Soccer Association.

The season runs March through early June with optional pre-season practices in February. Montana State league games will likely begin Saturday April 11. 2026.

Teams

In the past we have had 1-2 competitive teams but the number will depend on the number of interested players and available coaches.

Playing Time expectations: This is a competitive travel soccer team, it is different from rec soccer.  Players are not guaranteed equal playing time.

Update- Spring 2026 Competitive Teams:

Based on the responses from the interest form, we have registered two competitive teams for the 2025 spring season. We will have a U16 Boys team and a U18 Girls team, with both teams comprised of mixed age players as allowed within the Montana Youth Soccer Association Regulation ranging from 8th grade to high school). If you are interested in playing but have not been in communication with the soccer club yet please reach out to the contact email below. Practice is anticipated to start indoors in February if possible with games starting the first week of April and running through the second week in June.

**Spring Competitive Registration is open now at the link below.

Practices

Teams practice on the Frenchtown High School sports fields when available, or other green space located in the Frenchtown School District. Last year the teams practiced twice a week 5:30-7:30 in the evenings starting in March and we anticipate a similar schedule this year but exact practice schedules have not been determined.

Games

Games for the state competitive league begin the first week of April and continue through early June. Montana state league games are usually on Saturdays with two games per day in the same location. The team also plans on attending the Montana Cup State soccer tournament, a multiday tournament during the season.  To try to keep travel and tournament fees for the club low this is the only overnight tournament/multiday tournament the team is currently planning to attend. A second tournament can be added if there is interest among the teams and coaches to do so.

An example schedule from last season is linked here to give you an example of the travel commitment involved.

Coaching

Please contact us if you may be available to coach, co-coach, or assistant coach a competitive team.  Finding coaches is difficult and we are always looking for more so we can continue to grow and develop our club!

Fees and fundraising

Club fees are kept at a minimum due to volunteer and fundraising efforts by the parents and athletes. Fundraising, donations and sponsorships offset the players’ fees for competitive soccer.  We strive to ensure we meet our fundraising, donation, sponsorship numbers to prevent passing additional expenses to our membership for equipment, etc.  Your support is expected during fundraising events.  All monies earned goes directly to our club programs.

The exact registration fee for the competitive program will is $250 for the 2026 season.

Every athlete will be accepted to compete regardless of availability to cover club fees.  Scholarships and payment plans are available.  Please contact ANY member of the club board to request the scholarship amount needed.
